This is my favorite photo of a roanoke home. It shows the open floor plan of a house that was built in the late 1800s. The room at the top is the living room, the room at the bottom is the dining room, and the room at the middle is the kitchen.
Like many other things in this town, this house is a “fixer upper.” It was built in the early 1900s and has been renovated at least once since then. I don’t know if roanoke was built before or after this house. In any case, it’s very clearly a house that was built to last. There’s nothing in this photo that suggests it is a “fixer upper.
I believe it is because this house was built in the late 1800s. The room at the top (the living room) is the room you sit in while you watch tv. The room at the bottom (the dining room) is the room you sit in while you eat. The room at the middle is the kitchen. Basically, you sit in the kitchen and eat in the dining room.
This house is very clearly built for a family with young children. This particular room is probably the most obvious use for the space. The main bedroom is the one with the crib and the playroom.
